Owing to the technological advances across different fields and current digital transformations, conversational agents (or chatbots) are being introduced in the field of education to facilitate new services or support existing ones. Before we can fully embrace the role that conversational agents can play in improving various aspects of education, we need to thoroughly understand the concomitant opportunities and limitations. In project UNCAGE, we will develop and evaluate conversational agents to address important challenges in the realm of education. This initiative is supported by a 4TU.CEE research grant.
